As I watched the news about the California wild fires this morning, I was struck by a rather frightening realization. The anchor woman feverish explained that over 300,000 people were being evacuated and that over 1000 homes had already burned. The Secretary of Homeland Security and FEMA were on their way to California to investigate this calamity.
This was what got me thinking: Could Al Qaeda be responsible for these supposed wild fires? What would it take to cause nationwide destruction and terror using the ever worsening fire season? Here on the west coast, a raging wild fire can be nearly impossible to contain. Recent fires in Idaho and Washington have actually been so difficult to put out that there were many who thought the fire would eventually stop when it reached the ocean-over 600 miles away.
An orchastrated terror attack like this could cause billions of dollars in property loss, a huge disruption of commerce and transportation, and not to meantion, loss of life.
I know, talk about paranoia but that’s what this world has come to. If we can imagine it, it can happen- to US! And hearing a news reporter yesterday declare that the California wild fires were 0 % contained (yes, folks that was a big fat 0) got me wondering how Homeland Security and the government could possibly stop this type of terrorist attack.
I believe another attack is imminent. Why not use ourselves and our own natural resources to attack us? Who could stop it?
